Ansor Youth Movement as Nahdlatul Ulama youth organization will remain consistent to uphold the teachings of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (Aswaja) within the framework of the Unitary State of Republic of Indonesia.

Chairman of the West Sumatra's Ansor Rusli Intan Sati made the remarks as installing new members of Ansor Branch Board of Kotara Pariaman at Nahdlatul Ulum Islamic boarding school, Kajai, Pariaman Timur, Pariaman on Tuesday. NU Online's Bagindo Armaidi Tanjung reported.r />
Rusli said those new board members were cadres who are committed to maintaining the existence of Aswaja in Pariaman in particular and W3est Sumatra in general.

"For that reason, commitment to constantly increasing Ansor in Pariaman is a mandate that should firmly be held and carried out for the coming three years," he said.

Rusli who is also member of the Regional House of Representatives of Solok said that up to now from some 19 regencies/cities in West Sumatra, there had been 17 branches of Ansor still having valid organizational stewardship, while two remaining were still in the process.

In regard with the regional elections in West Sumatra, Rusli asserted that Ansor would not support certain candidates, saying that Ansor was an independent organization which has nothing to do with any practical politics.

Ansor, in this regard, would give freedom for its individuals to participate in the elections by giving their votes to their hopefuls.
