The NU prominent man KH Mustofa “Gus Mus” Bisri said here on Monday that all Muslims should be able to purify their soul through the spiritual approach as the center of energy of humanity.
“To purify the soul it’s should be attained through the sincerely spiritual approach before the Lord of the universe through solawat, zikir, joint prayer, and other rituals,” the caretaker of Pesantren Roudlatul Thalibin, Rembang, Central Java said.<>
At the commemoration of the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Mertoyudan, he further explained the Prophet’s life as the model for all human kind especially how to live life regardless of any different backgrounds.
Present also at the occasion, the leader of Jam’iyyah Thoriqoh Mu’tabaroh an-Nahdliyyah, KH Habib Luthfi (Pekalongan), the regent of Magelang Ir H Singgih Sanyoto, and numbers of the local figures.
According to Habib Luthfi, the Prophet had given such good examples to entire men and women to unity regardless of race, ethnic, and language. All these could lead to both prosperity and justice.
He said, all of the people of Indonesia were indebted to those whose dedication in struggling for the independence of the country of ours.
“This (independence) should be filled for the God’s blessings by doing good deed to all people, as performed by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through the nine saints (walisongo) on how to implement the Islamic teachings in hopes of addressing human demands in economic, social, and cultural affairs,” Habib Luthfi said.
At the same time, the regent of Magelang, Ir H Singgih Sanyoto said the nation’s problems could not be overcome through the rational approach alone. Instead the spiritual approach, he added, had the most important role. “Man purposes, and Allah disposes, it depends on the blessings of God”. (gpa/man)
