Gubernatorial candidate Khofifah Indar is scheduled to file a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court for the second time Monday following her dissatisfaction over the results of a vote recount and rerun elections in three regencies in East Java.

Tempointeraktif.com reported on Monday that Khofifah and her running mate, Mudjiono, were both dissatisfied with vote recount in Pamekasan and vote reruns in Bangkalan and Sampang regencies.<>

"We urge the elections commission (KPUD) not to include the results of the vote recount and rerun in those regencies in the gubernatorial vote recapitulation. I am sure Khofifah-Mudjiono will win should the KPUD not calculate the results in those regencies," Khofifah's lawyer Andi M. Asrun said Monday.

In the lawsuit, he added, the team demanded the court not acknowledge the results of the do-over as they believe deception was involved.

Previously, the KPUD declared Soekarwo-Syaifullah Yusuf, with 7,660,861 votes, the winner of the gubernatorial election, with slightly more votes than Khofifah-Mudjiono, who grabbed 7,626,757.

With 216,293 votes, Soekarwo-Syaifullah surpassed Khofifah-Mudjiono during vote recounting in Pamekasan. The winning pair also collected a higher number of votes in reruns in Bangkalan and Sampang with 253,981 and 210,052 votes, respectively.

Khofifah-Mudjiono previously filed for a review of vote recounts in Pamekasan and vote reruns in Sampang and Bangkalan. (jp/dar)
