Ahead of their meeting with British Embassy FC at the PTIK Stadium, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, Friday (12/12), the players of NU FC have done their warm-up exercises.
The key players such as Arief Mudatsir Mandan, Effendi Choirie, and KH Msyhuri Malik that would be starters in the big match seemed to be serious in their specific exercises at the Arhath Sport Center located in Sawangan, Depok, West Java.
<>"The sport center built by NU community is aimed at producing athletes within NU," an official of the Arhath Sport Center, Faza Wirda, told NU Online recently, adding that there had been kinds of sports which NU community is increasingly interested in.
Faza said that Britain was the country whose very strong tradition in sports especially soccer so that its strength in the sports "is increasingly recognized around the world".
"So it is reasonable enough if the team from NU does serious exercises to face European players whose better technical skills," he said.
In the meantime, the organizing committee chief, Arvin Hakin, said this match in addition to cultivating the relationship between NU and the British Embassy was also to strengthen frienship, peace, and cooperation between Indonesia and Britain.
Arvin added in future NU FC would also initiate similar matches with football clubs from Indonesia's embassies including US especially the embassies from Latin America and Africa in which this kind of sports "is popular in the countries".
Arvin was of view, NU FC had such self-confidence in the much-awaited match because the club of the Indonesia's biggest Muslim organization had good players in any line.
Formerly, NU FC have also played some friendly matches against other mass organizations like Muhammadiyah. On account of its match against other football clubs and self-confidence, NU FC has been determined to to win the Friday's big match. (dar)
