On account of quite limited sources dealing with the history of NU ranging from its establishment in 1926 to its present era, chairman of the NU sufi organization so-called as Jam'iyyah Ahlith Thariqah al Mu'tabaroh an Nahdliyyah Hbib Muhammad Luthfi bin Ali bin Hasyim bin Yahya felt worried.
As for him, writings related to the process of such ulema (Muslim scholars) as Hadratush Sheikh KH Hasyim Asy'ari in establishing the Indonesia's largest Muslim organization were extremely important to be reconstructed and read by NU young cadres.<>
Habib Luthfi made the statements as delivering a sermon before thousands of Nahdliyin (NU followers) at a religious gathering held by the Pekalongan's NU Branch Board at the Kauman's Grand Mosque over the weekend.
Habib Luthfi said that the proses of the NU establishment had a very deep meaning if tracing 'rituals' performed by the NU founding father in establishing a religious social organization basing its teachings on Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (Aswaja).
Although there had now been many books elaborating the birth of NU, he said, there had been no updates which can be both explored and developed by the NU young cadres, saying that behind the process of its establishment there were many good examples and models for the NU young cadres.
At this point, Habib Luthfi called on the NU young generations to reconstruct the history of the birth of NU by presenting many other more complete versions.
If the NU young cadres could meet the purposeful ideal, there would expectedly be more fresh discourses in regard with the development of NU in the future. (amz)
