The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) will reportedly hold a meeting (ta'aruf ceremony) for its new board members for the period 2010-2015 this evening (28/4).
The meeting will be attended by newly elected Rais Aam (general chairman of legislative board) of PBNU KH Sahal Mahfudz and general chairman of executive board / tanfidziyah of PBNU KH Said Aqil Siradj.<<>br />
The ceremony which will be held at the Pawn Shop Building, located beside the PBNU headquarters, will be attended by members of the House of Representatives and ministers from Nahdliyin. It will also be attended by some embassies.
According to secretary general Iqbal Sullam, a number of national figures will also be present at the ceremony such as Hj Shinta Nuriyah Wahid, Jimly Ashidiqie, Akbar Tanjung, Taufiq Kiemas, Rhoma Irama, Karni Ilyas and Mahfud MD, including leaders of religious social organizations.
Iqbal said the ceremony had also invited previous board members from both tanfidziyah and syuriyah, including institutions and autonomous bodies.
On Thursday, there would be a board meeting by involving all elements of PBNU at the PBNU headquarters. (nam)
