Tomorrow, PBNU will select participants willing to study in Sudan

The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) will select participants of undergraduate students willing to study to Sudan on Tuesday (3/10). The test selection would be simultaneously conducted in Jakarta, Malang, Medan, Yogyakarta, and Banjarmasin.
The coordinator of the PBNU scholarship affairs, HM Dawam Sukardi said, there are 14 participants will compete for 5 chairs from 30 provided for all students throughout the country.
<>He said that there are about 30 persons having registered themselves. “Actually there are about 30 persons having registered,” Dawam said, referring to some can no longer follow the test because of the lack of information.Dawam also suggested that only NU students having special opportunity to study in Sudan. “We (NU students) alone having the chance. Candidates from other religious organizations have to follow the test or competition as usual,” he said.
According to Dawam, Sudan’s International University of Africa has so far given opportunity for the Indonesia’s students to join its faculties such as medicine, administration, math, and so forth. But many of the students have preferred to take majors related to religious studies. (nam)
