Education Ministry Spokesman: We need a long term strategic education plan

The spokesman of the Indonesian Education Ministry Bambang Wasito Adi said here Tuesday as the world’s fourth most populous country Indonesia is now seeking any new attempts to improve the performance of national education system.

“For that reason, what we need now is that a long term strategic education plan by focusing primarily on nine year compulsory basic education,” Bambang said, adding that it is should be immediately completed.<>

To address the demand of school age children, he explained that the authorities would give more opportunities to the children to access education especially in primary and secondary schools.

“We will also improve the equipment of the schools and raise education budget,” the former NU law making body of the UK said.
     
He further suggested that “challenges also persist with the quality of basic education, including teacher qualifications, effective teaching methods, school management and community involvement.” (dar)
