General chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH Hasyim Muzadi told Indonesia's British ambassador Martin Hatful to study more about religion-state relations.
Following his meeting with Hatful at the office of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) on Thursday, Hasyim told NU Online that he felt honored to suggest Hatful to study about religion-state relations as conducted by the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).<>
While Hatful explained that there had been many meetings taking up issues on syaria on account of increasingly Muslim community in his country. He said there was a view on how the Muslim community implement syaria on one hand and respect British constitution on the other.
"I told him please study to NU on how to combine both syaria and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila so it should be defferentiated between formal and moral legal," Hasyim said. (mkf)
