The National Awakening Party (PKB)`s executive board led by Muhaimin Iskandar would offer an advisory post (Dewan Mustasyar) to Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), the party`s chief patron.
"Hopefully he (Gus Dur) will accept it (the advisory post). If he rejects it, there is no problem," Hj Lily Chadijah Wahid, Gus Dur`s younger sister said on Sunday on the sidelines of extraordinary congress of the PKB led by dismissed chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, in Ancol, North Jakarta on Sunday.<>
Lily attended the party`s extraordinary congress which took place on May 2-4, 2008.
Apart from that, an extraordinary congress of the pro-Gus Dur PKB which took place in Parung sub-district, Bogor district, West Java from April 30 to May 1, 2008, elected Ali Masykur Musa as a new general chairman of the PKB`s executive board.
"Dewan Mustasyar" was set as a new council in the pro-Muhaimin PKB`s structure of organization apart from Dewan Syura (Consultative body) and Dewan Tanfidz (Executive board) as the results of the party`s congress.
Lily said, her party would deliver the offer after Gus Dur returns from his visit to the United States.
The two extraordinary congresses happened after the party`s chief patron dismissed Muhaimin Iskandar from his position as PKB`s executive board general chairman.
Gus Dur, however, said the party`s cadres in the House of Representatives including Muhaimin Iskandar would be retained in representing the party. He made the remarks in Parung on Thursday after the congres elected Ali Maskur Musa as the general chairman.
Meanwhile, Muhaimin Iskandar, who was re-elected as PKB executive board general chairman in the axtraordinary congress expressed his readiness to conduct several measures to safe the PKB including to meet Gus Dur.
"We will work hard to meet Gus Dur," Muhaimin said.
The National Awakening Party (PKB)`s executive board led by Muhaimin Iskandar has filed a lawsuit against Gus Dur, Ali Masykur Musa and the extraordinary congress of the pro-Gus Dur PKB in Bogor. (mad)
