Gus Yahya registers NU management to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights

The General Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Central Board (PBNU) KH Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya) visited the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) on Friday (21/1). The arrival of Gus Yahya to report the results of the NU 34th Congress as well as to register the PBNU composition of for the 2022-2027 Period.

 

"The arrival of Gus Yahya is an extraordinary honor for me and for the Ministry of Law and Human Rights," said Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly.

 

On the occasion, Minister Yasonna also congratulated Gus Yahya on the election of PBNU General Chairman. "I really appreciate it because the implementation of the congress this time went smoothly, coolly, and without turmoil," said the man who was born in North Sumatra, May 27, 1953.

 

Meanwhile, Gus Yahya hoped that the Ministry of Law and Human Rights could immediately issue a letter to determine the management of PBNU. "We hope that the determination of the management could be issued before the inauguration process, which God willing, we will do later on January 31, 2022 in East Kalimantan," said the alumnus of the Krapyak Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta.

 

To Minister Yasonna, the leader of the Raudlatut Thalibin Islamic Boarding School, Leteh, Rembang, Central Java, also said that the composition of PBNU's management had embraced various parties for the first time. Women figures were also included in the core management of PBNU.

 

Meanwhile, Gus Yahya's arrival was accompanied by PBNU officials including Secretary General Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul), Deputy General Chairman Nusron Wahid, Chairman Amin Said Husni, Deputy Secretary General Habib Abdul Qodir and Deputy Secretary General Sulaiman Tanjung.

 

At the Kemenkumham office, the PBNU administrators were directly received by Minister Yasonna accompanied by the Director General of General Legal Administration (Dirjen AHU) Cahyo R. Muzhar.

 

Gus Yahya was elected as the General Chairman of PBNU at the NU 34th Congress in Lampung on Friday (12/24/2021). Three weeks later, on Wednesday (12/1/2022), he announced the entire management of PBNU to the public at the PBNU Building 8th Floor, Jalan Kramat Raya 164 Jakarta.
