Gusdurian Peduli targets to build 30 units temporary shelters in Cianjur

Gusdurian Peduli is processing of development the temporary shelter for the people affected by the earthquake in Cianjur, West Java.

Currently, Gusdurian Peduli, the working unit of Gusdurian networking, is processing of development the temporary shelter for the people affected by the earthquake in Cianjur, West Java. The process has been started since Saturday (11/26/2022).


The General Chairman of Gusdurian Peduli A'ak Abdullah Al-Kudus (Gus A'ak) said, the organization targeted to build 30 units of temporary shelter.  He explained, in the good weather, one unit can be finished in a day.


“But, becaused of weather obstacle when the rain falls everyday, every temporary shelter takes time for two days. But if it is not, we can finished one,” said Gus A’ak to NU Online journalist on Wednesday noon (11/30/2022).


Nevertheless, Gus A'ak said, currently Gusdurian Peduli, has been finishing one unit prototype of the temporary shelter that will be built later.


"Today, we have been working for the second temporary shelter,” he added.


Besides of building 30 units of temporary shelters, the Gusdurian Peduli volunteers in Cianjur also directly distribute aids to people affected by earthquake.


“We got a report that one area at district Cugenang has not got help, so our volunteers directly distribute the aids,” he said.


Gus A’ak state that most of the people affected by earthquake still need help such as groceries, clothes, tents, and drugs because some of the people starting to sick.


“There are also special needs for woman such as sanitary napkin; baby needs such as baby milk and telon oil,” said Gus A’ak.


Gusdurian Peduli also gives health services by visiting the refugee tents.


“Actualy we did not involve in the evacuation process, but we provide health treatment at the evacuation points,” said Gus A’ak.


The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) through the cluster of Earthquake Handling Health Cianjur regency record, there are five types of disease experienced by refugees in Cianjur, namely, acute respiratory tract infection (ISPA), gastritis, hypertension, diarrhea, and diabetes.


There are 155 beds prepared to care for postoperative patients scattered from the local government hospital (RSUD) Cimacam (50 beds), RSUD Pagelaran Selatan (20 beds), dr Hafiz General Hospital (20 beds), Bhayangkara Hospital (11 beds), Ciloto Health Training Center, Cimacan Campus (50 beds), and halfway house of Indonesia Christian Church (GKI) (5 beds)


Intensive health services also provide to pregnant women and people with mental disorder (ODGJ). Warning and education related to health promotion of clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS) are done by the health volunteer in every refugee points.
