Chinese Muslim Association ready to cooperate with Taiwan's NU

During its visit to the headquarters of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) in Jakarta Monday, the Chinese Muslim Association (CMA) said it would be ready to strengthen cooperation with the Nahdlatul Ulama Special Branch Board (PCINU) of Taiwan.
Secretary general of CMA Imam Ishaq Ma said the presence of Indonesian (Muslim) migrant workers and students in Taiwan was extremely important in developing Islam in the country.<>
Meanwhile Saiful Ahmar of the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office (KDEI) in Taiwan, accompanying Imam Ishaq expressed his appreciation over the establishment of the PCINU.
"Activities conducted by the Taiwan's PCINU are very good even some times ago they held a workshop that is very helpful for Indonesian migrant workers," Syaiful Ahmar said.
Any activity that has so fa been conducted by the PCINU is very positive. In addition to facilitating such programs as training and workshop, the PCINU has also given services like consultation on fiqh and received complaints of Indonesian migrant workers.
Ishaq Ma said the government of Taiwan would give more opportunity for Indonesian students willing to study in Taiwan including its scholarship programs provided. In this regard, he would immediately give update to PBNU about possibly scholarships provided by the government.
He expected the collaboration between CMA and PCINU to be able to create and cultivate relationship and brotherhood between Muslims in Taiwan and Indonesia. (bil/nam)
