East Java's NU holds bahtsul masail forum at Pesantren Ihyaul Ulum

The East Java's NU Regional Board (PWNU) has held a bahtsul masail (problems deliberation) forum at Ihyaul Ulum Islamic boarding school (Pesantren), Dukun subdistrict, Gresik regency from Saturday to Monday (17-18/1).

The forum would discuss such contemporary religious issues as the identification of such cases through DNA test, pawn transactions, Qur'anic software, additional income for officials, controlling mobile street traders (PKL) by seizing their property, working in places that will be used as such sinful ones, and having the right upon shopping discount<>.

The bahthul masail was attended by chairman of the advisory council (Rais Syuriyah) of PWNU KH Miftachul Ahyar and chairman of the executive council (Tanfidziyah) of PWNU KH Mutawakkil Alallah.

While in the Saturday's opening ceremony present also at the occasion was the regent of Gresik who is also the leader of Pesantren Ihyaul Ulum KH Robbah Maksum.

The forum was attended by some 35 representatives from NU branch boards (PCNU) and more than 50 pesantren in East Java. Each PCNU was represented by four people who are also the board members of the Bahtsul Masail Institution (LBM) and two delegates from each pesantren. (nam)
