Indonesia has potential to prevent disintegration

Many problems are now emerging along with the threat of national disintegration. The unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) was likely threatened. But Indonesia has big potential to prevent it.

The statement above was an excerpt of the second nationhood seminar entitled: “Upholding the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia: Study on Nation Disintegration Potential,” held in Islamic Boarding “Ponpes” School Al-Hikam Malang, East Java, Saturday (24/6).

Present in the forum economy analyst Faisal Basri, defense commission member of House of Representatives (DPR) Sutradara Gintings, and chief of honorary member of (DPR RI) Slamet Efendy Yusuf.

Gintings said the unitary of the state of the Republic of Indonesia did depend on the national leadership. He hoped Indonesian government to reinstate laws in well-organized order. “Any regulation will be in vain in the Indonesia’s leaders has courage of reinstating them in firmly order,” Gintings said. 
 
The politician of Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) pointed out there were such groups willing to defy Pancasila as a national ideology. He appreciated moderate groups such as NU that was still consistent with Pancasila. 

“I do appreciate NU. It is still consistent with Pancasila despite many groups reject it,” Gintings said.

At the same time, Faisal Basri paid more attention to national disintegration as a result of economic system. He asked the position of Pancasila dealing with its economic concepts.

In the global sphere, he explained many worldly economic system such as liberalism-capitalim and socialism-communism concept. Respecting Pancasila, he suggested that it can no longer be an economic ideology.

“As an ideology Pancasila is true. But it also needs descending instrument to accommodate the expected economic concept,” Basri said.

He was also optimistic of Indonesia’s economic future. He believed that next time Indonesia will posses economic concept siding with a concept outside of Pancasila’s one. (rif)
