Lakpesdam NU national meeting opened

The national meeting of Nahdlatul Ulama Institute for Human Resource Study and Development (Lakpesdam NU) was officially opened on Tuesday (12/12) night at the governor’s Griya Agung of South Sumatra. Vice Governor Mahyudin NS opened the meeting.

A number of NU prominent men such as General Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama 9PBNU) KH Hasyim Muzadi, Chairmna of Lakpesdam NU Nasihin Hasan, Former Director of Lakpesdam NU Said Budairi, member of House of Representatives Mufid Busyairi and participants of Khittah Nahdliyyah meeting as delegates from NU Branch Boards throughout the province.

<>In his speech, Mahyudin gave a highly appreciation over the meeting. He expected through the Lakpedam, NU as the country’s largest Muslim organization should be able to play its roles in empowering human resources as a whole.

“As the biggest mass organization in Indonesia, NU is expected to be able to its roles significantly in empowering the Indonesia’s human resources, especially in the field of education,” Mahyudin addressed the participants coming from various regional boards of Lakpesdam NU across Indonesia.

At the same time, Mahyudin expressed that his administration had paid more attention to the educational sectors by allocating 20 percent of the regional budget (APBD). He also expected “Islamic boarding schools in the province of South Sumatra could be financially independent”. (rif)
