The role played by Nahdlatul Ulama Preaching Institution in developing quality of people’s faith is now widely in success. In cooperation with the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, preachers coming from NU Islamic boarding schools would be reportedly deployed to live life with the people living in transmigration regions.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Chairman of LDNU KH Nuril Huda and the director-general of transmigration at the Manpower and Transmigration Ministry Drs Djoko Sidik Pramono MM at Serbaguna building of Depnakertrans on Tuesday.

<>Present also at the occasion General Chairman of the country’s largest Muslim organization KH Hasyim Muzadi and the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Erman Suparno.

Secretary General of LDNU Khoirul Huda Baasyir said there were three types in empowering the preachers. First is by sending the preachers to new transmigration regions through the concept of “integrated autonomous area”.

“They (the preachers) will live there with facilities like two hectares land, cost of living for a year, and even those who are unmarried, they would be married,” Erman Suparno said.

At the same time kiai Nuril said that the preachers would be sent to Jakarta for training for three months to get materials of preaching and skill in accordance with their own region’s necessity. The NU autonomous body has responsibility dealt with the materials while the Depnakertrans dealt with the skill training.

“We want to produce preachers like nine holy men (wali songo),” said kiai Nuril, adding the success of preaching modeled by the holy men because of purity and sincerity. (mkf)
