LFNU will conduct rukyat training

General Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Committee of Astrology (LFNU) KH Ghozalie Maroeri said on Wednesday (15/11) that LFNU would soon conduct a training of rukyat (determining date by sighting of moon especially to fix the beginning and end of fasting period) in regions across Java island.

"We will soon conduct such a training of rukyat hilal in regions across Java,” kiai Ghozalie told NU Online at the NU office, Jalan Kramat Raya, Jakarta.

<>He said the planned training that would be conducted at the grand mosque of Semarang on upcoming Desember, LFNU had prepared equipments including computers and internet.

“We expect in terms of the computer and internet, we can see moon through monitor screen,” kiai Ghozalie said.  

At the same time, he urged LFNU and other related circles to immediately prepare required materials for those participating in the coming purposeful training.

“There should be materials about system of report in rukyat location. That’s why, they have to be supported by adequate means or equipments,” he added.

As reported by NU Online the participants would be reportedly taught and trained in order to get such required acquisition dealing with the rukyat system. Those who take part in the training would be certified by the country’s largest Muslim organization. They would be also introduced by special devices to sight hilal (moon). (dar)
