The role of Fatayat NU, Linda said, was really significant in addressing the need of women for its networks reaching the grassroot level in villages.
The minister said, women in Indonesia had still met fundamental problems like maternal mortality rate which is now still at 228 per 100 thousands births and is the highest in ASEAN, adding based on the MDGs, in 2015 the target should have reached 102.
Other problems facing the women were health, poverty and the imbalance of roles between men and women, the minister said. (mkf)
