Participants to meet with Palembang deputy major

Following their meeting with South Sumatra vice governor, the participants of the national meeting of Nahdlatul Ulama Institute for human resource study and development (Lakpesdam NU) met with Palembang deputy major, Tolhah Hasan at his office on Wednesday (13/12).

Present also at the occasion chairman of the Lakpesdam NU Nasihin Hasan, chairman of the South Sumatra Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Board (PWNU) Mal’an Abdullah, and the former director of Lakpesdam Said Budairi.

<>Tolhah Hasan expected the existence of the Lakpesdam that aims to empower human capital would be able to contribute not only to NU followers (nahdliyin) but also to Indonesia’s people.

According to Tolhah, the existence of mass organizations had some of the time focused more on its interests. “In turn, nationalism, social sensitivity, religious values, pluralism, and unity are put aside,” he said.

He added that Lakpesdam NU had so far improved its both system and management so its existence could address the people’s demands respecting the sustainable human resource development.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Lakpesdam NU Nasihin Hasan explained the development of human resource as one of its goals was aimed at contributing to the nation. “The existence of Lakpesdam NU is to contribute its services to the nation and state,” he said. (rif)
