President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has called on the Indonesian people to follow the examples set by the Prophet Muhammad in his daily life.
“We can learn many things from the Prophet but one thing still very relevant is his leadership and success in making big changes,” the president told his entourage at the hotel where he is staying here.<<>;br />
The president came to Medina to conduct a minor hajj pilgrimage after a working visit to Turkey and attending a G-20 Summit in Canada.
He said the changes the Prophet had made were not accomplished as quickly and easily as people might think and therefore he called on all parties to remain patient about the shortcomings found in the country`s reform efforts.
“No change happens all at once. It takes 23 years to push for a change and after 11 years of reform shortcomings are still found but we should not worry as we can still improve conditions” he said. (ant/dar)
