General chairman of the Indonesia's largest Muslim organization Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) KH Said Aqil Siradj said that the management of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) "has now been more accomodative", including the management of NU in regions throughout the country.

Said Aqil made the statement following a rumor that the new management of PBNU has considerably been littered with individuals from certain regions and tended to ignore potential cadres from other regions, saying that all NU board members have enthusiastically been committed to taking part to contribute to the Nahdliyin-based organization.

"So far NU has been difficult to have boards for (NU) institutions and lajnah, but now they are competing to serve NU and they are seemingly so enthusiastic," he told NU Online here on Wednesday.

Said Aqil said that those are elected as chairmen and members in the institutions have actively started making strategic plans by holding work meetings, adding that those are from such regions as Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Sumatera, Surabaya and Yogyakarta had so far been active to attend the meetings and carry out various activities.

Said Aqil said that the most important thing was not but the spirit and cooperation of the individuals regardless of their far distance for the distance could be handled with their tempestuous spirit and militancy.

He said the involvement of many fresh men from various regions in the PBNU was aimed at addressing the need of Nahdliyin in particular and people in general. (nam)
