Thousands of people to attend Qiraatul Hadist gathering

Thousands of people from various villages in Karang Intan Subdistrict, Banjar District, South Kalimantan province attended on Wednesday a 9th Qiraatul Hadist gathering that was attended by Habib Abdurrahman al-Habsy from Jakarta.

Present also at the religious forum the Governor of South Kalimantan, Drs H Rudy Arifin and numbers of local government officials.

<> In accordance with its name “Qira’atul Hadist”, the forum was carried out by reciting hadist (prophet tradition) collections as part to disseminate Islamic teaching based on ahlussunnah wal jama’ah platform in the light of the Qur’an and al-Hadist.

“This gathering is aimed at strengthening Muslims’ faith in line with Islamic sources, namely al-Qur’an and al-Hadist,” said the organizing committee, Fauzan.

Rudy Arifin at the same time said that the Qira’atul Hadist (organization) was expected to be able to give such better positive impacts for religious life especially for young generations who have been westernised by the West culture.

He added that one of challenges in the course of religion was increasingly tendency of people to violate to religious norms. The violation has admittedly caused many amoral norm cases and crimes that would in turn threaten social order.

While Habib Abdurrahman al-Habsy expected all Muslims to immediately prepare themselves to welcome the coming holy month of Ramadhan.

“Fast in the holy month of Ramadhan is a pilgrimage form the poor that is not capable of going to Mecca and let us prepare ourselves by purifying our hearts from sinful things,” he said. (han/ant)
