Nahdlatul Ulama Girl Students Association (IPPNU) was expected to pay more attention to the development of organization in Eastern Indonesian regions.

That was expressed by one of Maluku’s IPPNU representatives at the IPPNU Congress XIV, held in Islamic Boarding “Pesantren” Scohol Darun Najah, South Jakarta, Monday (10/7). The programs of IPPNU have so far been focused on Java and Sumatra.

“There is no such serious forming of cadres from the Central in Eastern Indonesian regions. They have likely hesitated our Islamic,” said Esa Divinubun, is now active in Maluku’s IPPNU.

Esa said the serious forming process of cadres especially in Eastern Indonesian regions would in turn be a means to disseminate moderate Islam in the light of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). “The Central Board should go down,” said Esa, that was reportedly mentioned to be coming General Chairwoman of IPPNU.

While other candidate, Lia Suci Suciwati (Banten) admitted that recently the forming of cadres of IPPNU has been weak, not only in Eastern Indonesian region, but also in Java and Sumatra.

“Next, coordination line needs to be more specified. We can coordinate through national issues especially in educational matters,” said Lia, Banten’s IPPNU Chairwoman, who had ever won the Banten’s women contest. (nam)
