To promote humanitarian Islam, GP Ansor opens an office in US

The Central Board of Ansor Youth Movement promoted (GP Ansor) “Humanitarian Islam” to the strategic parties in the United State on 26 – 29 June 2017. The promotion was held by the General Secretary Adul Abdul Rochman and Katib ‘Aam Syuriah PBNU as well as the Emissary of GP Ansor for Islamic world KH Yahya Cholil Staquf.
In that event, both met US Policy Makers, statement, think thank body, interfaith institutions, Afghanistan ambassador, and so on in Washington DC.
“Charles Holland Taylor as the Emissary of GP Ansor for UN, US, and Europe also accompanies in that agenda,” Adung said to NU Online in Jakarta, Monday, (3/7).
According to Adung, the parties which were visited by GP Ansor respond positively. They even suggested GP Ansor to open office in Washington DC for promoting humanitarian Islam to policy makers and other strategic parties in US.
Because of getting such response, Adung added, GP Ansor will open central office of humanitarian Islam both in Jakarta and Washington DC. It will be decided in the daily meeting of GP Ansor as soon as possible.
Furthermore, Adung explained, humanitarian Islam is global movement which is dedicated to mankind prosperity overall, world peace, and civilization harmony that is inspired Islam rahmatan lil-'alamin, which manifested by re-contextualizing Islamic teachings which is in tune with the present reality.
“Humanitarian Islam would never become supreme ideology which will conquer any one, destroy any thing, and therefore to prevent religion abuse for promoting hatred, supremacy, and sectarian violence,” he concluded. (Muchlishon Rochmat/Abdullah Alawi)
