25 PWNUs confirm their participation

Untill Monday (27/7) at 12.00 or four days before the much-awaited conference, there have been some 2,101 Nahdliyin registered online at the registrasi.nu.or.id. 1500 of them are official participants (muktamirin) of the conference that will participate in the plenary sessions and commission meetings.

Even there have been 25 regional boards of Nahdlatul Ulama (PWNU) confirming their participation the the much-awated conference.

One of the organizing committees Sarmidi Husna said here on Monday that the conference would also be attended by mass media from within and outside the country.

"We hope the conference participants from the regional and branch boards of NU to immediately register their online participation," he said.

Online registration for the conference participants at the registrasi.nu.or.id is quite easy, for only taking a few minutes. The participants just enter their name, place and date of birth, photograph, the Decision Letter (SK) from PCNU or PWNU, mandate letter, headphone number, and other data requested.

If there are technical difficulties, the prospective participants can contact some number listed in the site.

As reported, the 33rd Congress will be attended by representatives of 34 regions (PWNU) and more than 500 branches (PCNU) throughout Indonesia, and special branch representatives (PCINU) abroad. Each will delegate six official participants, according to the number of commission meetings, namely: bahtsul bahtsul diniyah waqiiyah, bahtsul bahtsul diniyah maudluiyah, bahtsul bahtsul diniyah qonuniyah, program, organization and recommendation commissions.

The committee could not prevent those who are not official participants to attend the conference. There will kikely be hundreds of thousands of Nahdliyin willing be present to enliven the congress.

The Jombang's NU congress will be held in four pesantren (large Islamic boarding schools), namely Pesantren Tebuireng, Pesantren Tambak Beras, Pesantren Denanyar, and Pesantren Darul Ulum. The participant will stay at the four pesantren. Each pesantren will host sessions of the commission, while the opening and plenary sessions will be centered on the Jombang's town square. (masdar)
