The National Nahdlatul Ulama Student Family (KMNU) will hold the 2021 NU Science and Cultural Art (Nusantara) annual event. This year, KMNU of Lampung University will host this grand event after previously KMNU of State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta successfully hosted it. This event will be held online from 24-26 September 2021.

“This event will be attended by various universities from within and outside the country. At least 29 universities will participate in the so-called Nusantara 2021," the Organizing Committee Chief of Nusantara 2021 Idhar Fisabilhaq told NU Online here on Friday (17/9).

This time, Nusantara 2021 has a short theme, namely "Siger" which stands for the Spirit of Competing in Preserving the Arts, for the Character Nahdlatul Ulama Cadres. This theme was taken as an embodiment in responding to one of the challenges ahead in organization by preserving local culture and wisdom. This program is also expected to be able to pioneer the future of a peaceful world civilization with the Islamic values of the archipelago as its foundation.

"This activity is expected to be able to add insight, explore and facilitate potential, and appreciate the achievements of Nahdlatul Ulama students who are members of the National Nahdlatul Ulama Student Family (KMNU)," Idhar added.

Idhar explained that the implementation of Nusantara 2021 was different from previous years. If previously the competitions were held in person, in the midst of this pandemic, the competitions would be held online. More than 300 participants from 29 universities would be involved.

“The contestants come from KMNU who are members of the National Nahdlatul Ulama Student Family (KMNU). Every university sends a delegation to participate in this Nusantara event,” he explained.

The competitions held this year include so-called Cover shalawat, LKTI, Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ), mobile legend competition, Musabaqah Syarhil Qur'an (MSQ), and Musabaqah Qiraatul Kutub (MQK).

In addition to the competition, other events will also be held in Nusantara 2021, such as an international webinar that presents speakers from within and outside the country such as Chairman of the Advisory Board (Rais) of PBNU KH Ahmad Ishomuddin and also Gus Nadirsyah Hosen from Australia. Other events that would be held include the gathering forum, and Nusantara Bershalawat.

"Nusantara is a form of commitment from the central board of the Nahdlatul Ulama Student Family (KMNU)  in developing the interests and talents of its members, especially in the religious and academic fields. Hopefully this activity will become a forum for preserving culture and da'wah (preaching) to exchange insights and networks," he said.
