The irony of civilization

Basically every culture has its own medium so that it does not rely on other cultures to preserve and develop itself. It is possible for those studying other culture for consideration of enriching rather than replacing their own cultures. While in line with the development of colonialism since the 17th century, European countries have begun to plunder other world parts. In this respect, the European countries succeeded to smash the glorious of the local culture for the pursuit of power. 

After dominating politics and economy as well, they then evolved such a discourse claiming that the culture of the Europe was superior. For this reason if a country wants to develop it should follow their culture. Fortunately, the countries in Asia were able to preserve their own culture.<>

While it’s vulnerable for the countries in Africa and South America having lost their culture. Their history and legacy were replaced by the European culture and languages. In 1950th France restricted a number of countries such as Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia to study their own culture and language.

Europe and America claimed themselves as the symbol of development and modernity. They then voiced the doctrine to other countries. But in reality it’s far from the fact. How can they teach democracy while in fact for over two hundred years there has been only a Muslim member of parliament in the United States for instance or France calling itself as the centre of civilization. In this country, there have recently been Islamic secondary schools. In Australia, there would be Muslim parties. While in both Asia and Africa there have been for long time ago a large number of European schools. Recently, some religion or European ideology-based political parties have also tended to be permissible.

It reveals that the culture can not be distinctly compared with one another for in fact the Asian countries viewed to be out of date have civilization which is more excellent and older compared with that belongs to the Europe. That’s why the Asian countries have been familiar with the tolerance and multiculturalism while the European countries have tended to be extremely fanatics and racialists. They most of the time express cynically their mindset in the name of professionalism, competence and so on.

This should reminds us of not insulting our own culture and tradition for their culture tends to feature manipulation and irony. How do they teach humanity and peace while in fact they have been constantly opposed to other countries. They have also colonized independent countries and restricted the rights of Muslim countries to freely express including expressing their religious freedom.

It’s inevitable that the European countries should again and again respect Muslims all over the world to develop their own educational, economic, and political system as each religion has also developed in the third world countries and Muslim world in general. Consequently, they can express freely their political aspiration including that related to religious affairs. Ironically, the West countries calling themselves as the symbol of development with any argument have now tended to restrict the freedom of expression. 

The Asian people and Muslims living in the West have now been still in discrimination pressure and become the centre of public attention for being accused as extremists. Those who sincerely perform religious affairs are regarded as fanatics and militants. On account of the prejudice their freedom of expression is restricted.

Through any arguments such as orderliness and security, they commit both discrimination and restriction. While in other side they declare the arguments through humanitarian institutions and the United Nations (PBB) to promote mutual understanding without repression and discrimination. This is a really bitter experience that should now be faced by Muslims in the West. The equality toward an absolute peace should be attempted through the peaceful way. (Abdul Mun’im DZ)
