Brilliant measures would be taken by the Ansor Youth Movement (GP Ansor), the Nahdlatul Ulama youth organization to cooperate with the Ministry of Environment as efforts to maintain and preserve the environment throughout Indonesia.

General Chairman of the GP Anshor Saifullah Yusuf and State Minister of Environment, Rahmat Witoelar will be signing Tuesday (3/10) a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the GP Ansor office, Jalan Kramat Raya 65 A Jakarta.

<>Secretary General of the organization, Malik Haramain said here on Friday (30/9) the MoU was designed as part of the Ansor’s care of national development especially that related to the preservation of the environment.

“It’s specially focused on disaster-affected regions, namely flood, landslide, earthquake, cyclone, and so on,” Malik said.

The Former General Chairman of the Indonesian Muslim Student Movement (PMII) expected all of the Ansor cadres to actively respond to the environment preservation through any positive and constructive ways and involve the local participation in the program.

At the same time, Vice General Chairman of the organization Muchtar Hadyu suggested the Ansor will invite NU prominent man Masdar F Mas’udi, speaking about Islam and Environment. “In the Qur’an it’s clear how Allah creates the universe for human interests” Muchtar said, asking the impacts of the environment destruction.
