As'ad Said Ali-Slamet Effendi Yusuf named deputy general chairmen

Based on decisions made by the Organization Commission of the NU32nd congress recently, it was stipulated in addition to picking up names as deputy general chairmen, the commission also mandated some figures as chairmen of the executive board (tanfidziyah) for the period 2010-2015.

Two deputy general chairmen who will accompany newly elected general chairman KH Said Aqil Siradj are As'ad Said Ali who is also deputy chief of the Indonesia's State Intelligence Agency (BIN) and former chairman of Ansor Youth Movement, Slamet Effendy Yusuf. &<>lt;br />
The appointment of the two NU figures was stipulated by those who are grouped under what so-called as formation team and held a meeting at the residence of newly elected general chairman of the legislative board (Rais Aam) KH Sahal Mahfudz at Maslakul Huda Islamic boarding school, Kajen, Pati, on Monday.

Some fresh men who are appointed to be chairmen of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) are Hasyim "Gus Im" Wahid who is also the younger brother of former general chairman of PBNU KH Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid, Maidir Harun, Prof. Maksum Mahfudz, Hanif Saha Ghofur, Imam Aziz, Hilmy Muhammadiyah, Marsudi Syuhud, Prof. Kacung Marijan and incumbent Abbas Mu'in.

Two general chairman candidates in last Makassar congress, KH Salahuddin "Gus Sholah" Wahid and H Ahmad Bagdja are mandated to serve as a'wan (assistants) of PBNU and KH Masdar F. Mas'udi is appointed as one of chairmen of syuriyah (legislative board) of PBNU.

While secretary-general of PBNU is handed over to H Iqbal Sullam who will be accompanied by such figures as Enceng Shobirin, Hilmy Ali Yafie, Abdul Mun'im DZ, Aji Hermawan, Affandi Muchtar, Syahrizal Syarif and Hamid Bula.

Bina Suhendra will serve as treasurer of PBNU and be accompanied by such figures as Zainal Abidin, Mustolihin Majid, Raja Sapta Ervian and Hamid Wahid Zaini. (nam)
