Chair of school of education welcomes Indonesian pesantren deputy heads

The chair of the school of education of Leeds University Tom Roper welcomed Indonesia’s pesantren deputy heads’ arrival willing to participate in a training related to issues on education management at the University House, Leeds University, Monday (19/2).
Roper expected the participants to be able to take advantages of the purposeful program aimed at giving broad interesting of education management during their visit to the prestigious university.
<>He said that Leeds University had enjoyed very strong collaborative links with Indonesia’s institutions including pesantren for many years. “We have a very strong relationship with Indonesia.”
“This program is expected to give a mutual understanding for both sides,” he said adding that the school of education of Leeds University had often been asked to provide such tailor-made short course training and attachment programs for Indonesians with specific requirements.
Roper also expected the 25 participants to gain a further information of current issues dealt with school management and a picture of the variety of education in the UK.
After hosted by the top official, all participants joined a lecture discussing education management in the Indonesian context delivered by the program coordinator Hywel Coleman. (dar)
