The style of such charismatic leadership as seen within the culture of Nahdlatul Ulama organizations should be importanly matched with orderly management. If not, the cultural movement within the Indonesia's biggest Muslim organization would disappear.
"The charismatic leadership tends to be longer than rational leadership. But the first has its weaknesses," General Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH Hasyim Muzadi made the statement on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Nahdlatul Ulama Islamic High Institute campus building in Kemang, Bogor, West Java on Monday (28/1).
<>According to the caretacer of the Malang's Al Hikam Islamic boarding school (Pesantren), within the patterns of charismatic leadership, the rules of organization would solely tend to focus on a figure.
He further insisted that that the patterns would easily be changed in line with the changes of leadership styles in providing direction, implementing plans and motivating people.
"So we should now conduct organizational improvements in all sectors. This means whoever that would be next NU board member, his track must be in line with his predecessors," Hasyim said. (nam)
