NU Australia to conduct joint prayer and Maulid Nabi

The member of Advisory Council of the Australian Special Branch Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PCI NU) Habib Umar Faruq Assegaf said here on Sunday that his nahdliyin-based organization would conduct both joint prayer and celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth (Maulid) as the momentum to reconcile elements of the nation.

The Sunday’s religious gathering was attended by many Indonesia’s Muslims living in Canberra. Present also at the occasion numbers of Indonesian diplomats and their family, students, and those who belong to the Indonesia’s biggest Muslim organization, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). &l<>t;br />
The celebration was started by the recitation of Barzanji led by Habib Umar Assegaf. Those attending the celebration were devoted to the reading of shalawat Nabi that touches their deepest feelings. Habib Umar then closed the celebration with a prayer making his eyes tearing.

The PCI NU at the special day also conducted a khatmul Qur’an as its monthly activity that used to be conducted in states of Australia.

While the joint prayer for the nation was led by the Chairman of the Executive Council Arif Zamhari saying that it was solely for the Republic of Indonesia. “This prayer is the form of our love for the nation. May Allah help our nation’s leaders to overcome the nation’s problems”.

At the meantime, Farid Saenong the doctorate program student at the Australian National University in his speech said that the primary function of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the blessing of the universe. (nu-anz/nam)
