The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) are ready, if asked, to play its mediating roles in settling internal conflicts of the National Awakening Party (PKB). The PBNU are deeply concerned over the onging conflicts.

Chairman of the PBNU KH Said Aqil "Kang Said" Siradj made the statement after participating in a commemoration of Buya Hamka's 100th anniversary at Al Azhar Moqque, Jalan Sissingamangaraja, Jakarta on Monday (7/4).<>

His statement was also following the expectation of some 100 ulemas and clerics of the party at a national ulema meeting in Jakarta over the weekend.

"The PBNU can be such facilitator," he said, adding that it was not from his own view.

Kang Said admitted that PBNU had ever taken part in promoting the PKB.

As reported, there were some 100 ulemas last Sunday holding a meeting to support Muhaimin "Cak Imin" Iskandar to stay in his post and making 9 agreements related to the party's conflicts. (rif/dtc/nam)
