Hasyim whom is President of the World Conference on Religions for Peace made the remark after delifering religious sermon on an occasion of what called as Haul Sunan Perapen in Kelangonan Village, Kebomas District, Gresik Regency, East Java on Saturday.<>
He further argued that he would reject if the factor was regarded as the first and foremost one over the existence of misleading sects such as Islam Tauhid, Ahmadiyah, Al Qiyadah Al Islamiyah, acknowledging the emergence of a prophet after Prophet Mohammad SAW and so on.
He explained that there was also another factor that he called as democracy, causing the existence of the sects in the country. For the caretaker of the Al Hikam Islamic Boarding “Pesantren” School, democracy in the reform era of ours had so far changed to be such what called as “democrazy’.
Respecting the Al Qiyadah Al Islamiyah sect, Hasyim urged the government to take stern measures against the sect, recognizing recognize the emergence of a prophet after Prophet Mohammad and allow Muslims not to pray, go on the haj or fast.
On 4th October the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) issued a fatwa against the “Al-Qiyadah Al-Islamiyah” sect, which is led by Ahmad Moshaddeq, real name Salam.
MUI Chairman, Ma’ruf Amin said the sect had grown rapidly since 2000 and that since July 23rd 2007 Ahmad Moshaddeq had been claiming to be a prophet after he spent 40 days and nights in meditation at Mount Bunder, Bogor, West Java.
The MUI spent three months studying the group before finally deciding that it was heretical, and had already informed the police of its decision, in the hope that Ahmad Moshaddeq would be prosecuted for blasphemy against Islam. (okz/sbh)
