The foundation of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela enters a new stage with the Promotion Commission preliminary report to President Hugo Chavez.

The report is the starting point of arrangements to set up the Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV), which the statesman proposed to secure the process of changes he leads since 1999.<>

The project is aimed at uniting over 20 parties and support groups in the route of socialist development during his term from 2007 to 2013.

The parties accepted the call but some object immediate disband and demand an autonomy to learn of the PSUV by-laws, ideology and structure.

But while the conservatives view the debates as a failure of the call to unity, the rest see it as a logical exchange of ideas to advance changes to the domestic politics. (pl/dar)
