NU Blitar initiates coins infaq movement

The Branch Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Blitar, East Java, launched the so-called Gerakan Infaq Uang Receh (Coins Infaq Movement). This movement was initiated by alumni of the 1st Training of Pioneer Cadres of Nahdlatul Ulama (PKPNU) Blitar and was launched at the headquarters of NU Blitar on Sunday (18/9).

Vice Chairman of NU Blitar Dr. H. Moh. Faizin explained the movement of giving to for charitable purposes initiated by the alumnni of PKPNU would be managed by the LAZISNU (Lembaga Amil Zakat Infaq dan Sadaqah / the institution of zakat, donations, alms) Blitar.

Faizin said the movement was, among others, aimed at financing the organization in strengthening its institutions in addition to realizing the NU Blitar's vision and mission

"Besides, it is also aimed at empowering the Nahdliyin (NU followers),'' Faizin said, adding that both LAZISNU and NU Blitar would socialize the importance of infaq to the village and subdistrict level board members throughout Blitar

In ters of the purposeful movement, all NU followers could be donors and get a charity box located in easy to reach places.

According to him, the principles of this movement include: 1. easy, all NU members could give charity (infaq); 2. affordable; 3. consistency (stiqomah); 4. focused, for being distributed properly; 5. berkah, for increasing the values ​​of kindness and togetherness of Nahdliyin and their responsibility to the NU organization.

"We are targeting some 25 000 members. Based on the number of NU identity cards (Kartanu), there have been more than 100 thousand," Faizin said, expecting this movement could be done step by step, the most important thing is that this must be run first. (Imam Kusnin Ahmad/Masdar)
