NU senior clerics will reportedly attend the 2021 NU conferences in Jakarta

The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) will hold the Alim Ulama National Conference (Munas) and the Grand Conference (Konbes) in Jakarta, on September 25-26 2021.

 

Reportedly, the grand events will be attended by a number of prominent clerics (kiai), including Mustasyar PBNU KH Ahmad Mustofa Bisri (Gus Mus), the leader of Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School Kediri KH Anwar Manshur, General Chiarman (Rais Aam) Idarah Aliyah Jam'iyyah Ahlith Tariqah Al-Mu'tabarah An-Nahdliyyah (JATMAN) KH Habib Luthfi bin Ali bin Hasyim bin Yahya, KH Dimyati Rois from Al Fadhlu Wal Fadhilah Islamic Boarding School Kaliwungu Kendal, and KH Muhtadi Dimyati or Abuya Muhtadi from Banten.

 

The Organizing Committee Secretary of the NU 2021 Munas and Konbes, M Imdadun Rahmat said here on Monday (20/9).

 

"The Munas-Konbes, God willing, will be attended by senior clerics. In addition, Mr. Jusuf Kalla will also be present, including KH Ma'ruf Amin, whom we have invited as Mustasyar PBNU," Imdad told NU Online.

 

According to him, in addition to the forum (Munas) being considered to have an important position, of course the intervention of thoughts and contributions of the clerics is very important in this event.

 

"Because this forum is important, clerics, senior figures and NU leaders are certainly called to contribute and convey their thoughts in these Munas and Konbes," he said, hoping that the presence of the clerics as influential figures who are competent and have high capabilities could make the NU Munas and Konbes run smoothly and optimally.

 

By doing so, he hoped that it would produce the best decisions and solutions from all aspects.

 

"Yes, in terms of organization, work programs, recommendations issued, as well as related to legal decisions that will later be produced in problems deliberation (bahtsul masail)," Imdad said.

 

In terms of the Munas and Konbes, he said that the preparation for the second highest event after the NU Congress was well-organized and ready.

 

"Alhamdulillah, until today the preparations for the Munas and Konbes have all been completed," he explained.

 

Among the preparations, he stated that both invitations and materials had been sent to support participants and technical aspects in the field.

 

"Invitations have been sent to all participants, including to (the NU) regional borad members throughout Indonesia, and our materials have also been sent," he said.

 

It's just that, he added, currently he was still waiting for confirmation of the attendance of delegates from each region, for the distribution of commissions in the forum later.

 

"Yes, anyway, so far all preparations have been completed well," he added.

 

For information, Munas and Konbes are two different forums. These forums were held to produce strategic and fundamental decisions for the benefit of the people, for the integrity of the nation and state.

 

The Alim Ulama National Conference (Munas) discusses religious issues concerning the lives of the people and the nation. The implementation is carried out openly by inviting and involving Muslim scholars, Islamic boarding schools' leaders, and experts.

 

Meanwhile, the NU Konbes discusses the implementation of the decisions of the Congress (muktamar), reviews the development of the programs, makes decisions on the Organizational Regulations (PO), and issues recommendations. This forum is more closed, only attended by members of the plenary boards and regional board members.
