<>“This road show is part of efforts to realize the end of (sectarian) conflicts between Sunni and Shi’i in Iraq and other Middle East countries,” Hasyim said.

The Secretary General of NU International Conference of Islamic Scholars (ICIS) is now preparing the same international conference focusing on efforts to overcome the long-term conflicts.

Formerly, Hasyim also said the purposeful ideas while the Indonesia’s Iran Ambassador Behrooz Kamalvandi coming to NU office last Wednesday (3/1).

“In fact the factor of the conflicts was not based on matters namely Kurdi, Shi’i and Sunni,” Hasyim said, adding that the main factors were matters related to Saddam’s dictatorship, foreign intervention and dissension. (rif)
